What's a similar recipe for royal icing, but not so hard?
I'm looking for one that used to frost cakes cookie (The big giant chocolate cookies with icing on top) or have a market basket in your area I'm thinking of freezing similar to what used in their pies. I'm looking for a recipe that is creamy, but hard. I want to make a cookie cake and write a message of celebration and decoration on top. I do not want use royal icing, because I think it might be too rigid. I'm looking a little thick and creamy hard if not dry. Thanks
2 pounds powdered sugar (one of the bags) 3 tablespoons of meringue, if you do not have the meringue can use 1 teaspoon of cornstarch. 6-7 tablespoons water Mix all ingredients together and split if you want different colors. Water to add to runnier be. You can pipe the mixture for coating biscuits and add a little in another bowl add a little water and flood downtown. Once this is dry about 30 minutes you can decorate any cookie or cake way you like. Good luck just finished 7 gingerbread houses with it and look great. Happy holidays. Dries perfect.
